Foreman/Forewoman - General Contractor

Key Information:
- Hours: Based on a 44-hour work week; however, overtime is required during the busy season.
- Must be willing to working evenings and weekends when needed.
- Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description:
- Work with Superintendents, Project Managers, and sub-contractors to increase safety awareness and improve safety practices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Monitor labor productivity and report progress updates to the superintendent.
- Contribute to creating and execute safety plan.
- Responsible for safety on site.
- Lead and assist in weekly safety meetings on sites.
- Lead and participate in toolbox meetings.
- Assist in investigation and reporting of incidents.
- Supervise workers and coach them to higher safety culture and productivity.
- Manage material inventory, equipment maintenance, and tool tracking.
- Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment.
- Ensure that all quality documents are being signed off.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
- High school diploma or certified as a Journeyman Carpenter.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on construction experience with prior leadership duties.
- Deep knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's license with an insurable driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
- CSTS 2020 or SCOT and WHMIS 2015 required.
- You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.
- Leadership for Safety Excellence. (LSE Proficiency level certified)
- A reliable means of transportation is required.
- Proficient English language skills required.
Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required or certified as a Journeyman Carpenter.
