Project Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Barrie, ON
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering industrial, commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential construction projects from pre-construction through project completion.
This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage project budgets, schedules, quality, safety, subcontractors, consultants, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from pre-construction through close-out.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, change orders, and overall financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
- Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Identify project risks and implement effective solutions to minimize delays.
- Review and approve RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
- Support project teams throughout construction and ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor.
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of commercial, industrial, institutional, or multi-unit residential construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Jonas Construction Software, or similar project management software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence.
- Gold Seal Certification, LEED Accreditation, or PMP designation is considered an asset.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
