Our Client, a leading manufacturing/distribution company is looking for a Material Handler/ Forklift Operator to join their team. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks within our warehouse including loading trucks, unloading trucks, case picking product, and staging finished product as it is released from our packing area.
Please Note: Afternoon and Night Shifts available!
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts with various attachments (pull-pack, slip sheet, etc.) in a bustling warehouse
- Safely load/unload trailers ensuring weight distribution, load integrity, and all shipping instructions are followed
- Move finished product from the production line and store it in the correct location in the warehouse
- Case pick product following all guidelines using an RF scanner, hand wrap and label products, and stage in the appropriate location
- Ensure a clean and safe production environment including sanitation and cleaning
- Regularly lift items up to 55 pounds
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of five (5)
years of equivalent training/experience,
- Valid Forklift License (Counter Balance - Electric)
- robust organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills;
- manufacturing experience is an asset
- Ability to interpret/log packing slips and purchase orders; and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable with frequently lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer software is required
- Exposure to SAP / ERP is preferred
- Experience with inventory management tools such as min / max would also be an asset
