Build North Construction Inc. is a general contractor and construction management company serving the Sudbury, North Bay, Parry Sound, Manitoulin Island, and Elliot Lake areas.

Established in 1985, we have been helping to build Northeastern Ontario through the construction of key municipal and institutional buildings.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Site Superintendent to oversee daily site operations and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate subcontractors, manage site activities, and maintain strong communication with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all day-to-day construction site activities and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate site personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Plan, schedule, and manage labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to maintain project timelines.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Manage project expenditures and assist in maintaining project budgets through effective cost control measures.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes,



contract requirements, and company quality standards.
- Administer and document project changes, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular site meetings and provide detailed progress reports to Project Management.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety by enforcing company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in commercial construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects ranging from $1 million to $10 million in value.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and site operations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute work in accordance with construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
