Job Title: Superintendent
Location: Edmonton, AB
Our client is seeking a Superintendent to lead commercial and institutional construction projects, ensuring protected, high-quality project delivery while overseeing day-to-day site operations, subcontractors, and field teams.
What's the Job?
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing site safety programs and procedures.
- Oversee daily construction activities and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
- Mentor, coach, and support field teams to drive performance, engagement, and professional growth.
- Assist in the development, execution, and monitoring of project schedules.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions, and change notices.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, design challenges, scheduling impacts, and construction issues.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and key stakeholders to develop effective project solutions.
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and scope requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and material quality throughout all project phases.
- Manage project documentation, including field reports, safety records, inspections, and schedule updates.
- Coordinate labour, materials, and resources to support project objectives and milestones.
What's Needed?
- Progressive experience as a Superintendent within a general contracting environment.
- Extensive experience managing commercial and institutional construction projects.
- Proven ability to successfully lead projects valued between $10M and $25M.
- 5-10 years of construction supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, drawings, specifications, and site operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
