An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced, motivated Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to work alongside an energetic and driven Critical Care / Internal Medicine Specialist in a new, single-practitioner specialist practice in Central Nanaimo.

This is not your typical MOA position. You will have the opportunity to be involved from the beginning, helping establish office systems, workflows, and the EMR while shaping a position that can grow alongside the practice.

We are looking for someone who is hard-working, self-motivated, organized, outgoing, and takes genuine pride in their work. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, takes initiative, and is comfortable being the key administrative support for a busy specialist.

What We Offer

- Permanent full-time position
- Starting wage of $28.00/hour
- Clinical hours of 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM - No Clinic Thursdays
- Opportunity to work from home for some administrative hours

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

- Medical Office Assistant training and/or relevant medical office experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- A friendly, professional,



and outgoing personality
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Confidence communicating with patients, physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare offices
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a specialist medical setting
- Accuro EMR experience is an asset
- Previous experience in specialist, internal medicine, or hospital-based healthcare settings is an asset
