A Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service at events such as weddings, conferences, corporate meetings, and private functions. They ensure event spaces are properly set up, guests are served efficiently, and the venue is cleaned after the event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications (tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and décor).
- Greet guests professionally and provide courteous service.
- Serve food and beverages following banquet service standards.
- Refill drinks and clear dishes throughout the event.
- Coordinate with banquet captains, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth event operations.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve minor service issues.
- Break down and clean banquet rooms after events.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading banquet equipment when required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous banquet or restaurant serving experience is an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs (11–23 kg).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and versatile shifts.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Smart Serve certification (or equivalent, if serving alcohol) may be required.
