POSITION SUMMARY
NAMCO has an immediate opening for an Industrial Painter responsible for preparing and applying industrial coatings to gearboxes, drawworks, fabricated steel components, and other heavy mechanical equipment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, understands industrial painting processes, and takes pride in producing a professional, durable finish. The successful candidate will work closely with production, assembly, welding, and quality departments to ensure products leave our facility looking their best.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, sanding, grinding, masking, and other required preparation methods
· Apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, and industrial coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment
· Paint gearboxes, drawworks, fabricated weldments, structural steel, and machined components
· Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications
· Verify coating thickness, adhesion, and overall finish quality
· Perform touch-ups and repairs as required
· Maintain spray guns, paint booths, compressors, and related equipment
· Ensure proper handling and storage of paints, thinners, and hazardous materials
· Read and follow work instructions, paint specifications, and production travelers
· Work closely with production personnel to meet manufacturing schedules
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
· Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 2 years of industrial painting experience
· Experience painting heavy equipment, fabricated steel, structural components, or industrial machinery
· Experience with airless and conventional spray systems
· Knowledge of industrial coatings, primers, epoxies, and urethane paint systems
· Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques
· Ability to safely handle paints, solvents, and coating materials
· Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
· Physically capable of lifting materials and working around large components
· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment
· Forklift or overhead crane experience (an asset)
· Experience reading work instructions and engineering drawings
· WHMIS and respirator fit-test certification (an asset)
SCHEDULE
· Monday to Friday
· Standard day shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
· Overtime opportunities are available based on workload and production schedules.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Hourly Pay: $24.00 – $32.00+ per hour (negotiable based on experience and performance)
