Position Overview

As a Hardscape Labourer, you will play a key role in the construction of residential patios and outdoor living spaces. You will be responsible for site preparation, base preparation, grading, leveling, and the installation of interlocking pavers, natural stone, retaining walls, steps, and other hardscape features. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that requires attention to detail, quality workmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- Assist with swimming pool construction, including site preparation and surrounding hardscape installations.
- Prepare and excavate job sites for pool and hardscape installations.
- Grade and level surfaces using laser levels and hand tools to ensure accurate elevations.
- Install interlocking pavers, natural stone, coping, steps, and retaining walls.
- Cut pavers, stone, and concrete materials using masonry saws and other cutting equipment as required.
- Operate construction equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, plate compactors, and other job-site equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload,



and transport construction materials and equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret site plans and construction drawings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
- Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Work as a lead hand when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

- Strong Construction background
- Valid G driver's licence with reliable transportation is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on hardscape installation experience is required.
- Experience preparing and compacting base materials, grading, and leveling.
- Experience installing interlocking pavers, brick, natural stone, concrete pavers, patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Experience using masonry saws and other power tools for cutting hardscape materials.
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, plate compactors, and similar construction equipment.
- Experience in swimming pool construction is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
