Job Overview

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, suppliers, equipment, and field personnel while maintaining compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day construction operations on assigned projects.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all site activities to meet project milestones.
- Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, contracts, and quality standards.
- Promote and enforce a robust safety culture by ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct daily site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Identify, report, and address safety hazards and quality concerns promptly.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, deliveries, and subcontractor schedules.




- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts and construction issues.
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, site diaries, labour records, equipment logs, and progress documentation.
- Communicate project updates to the Project Manager.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and accurate.
- Monitor labour productivity and assist with cost control initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce project costs.
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, and risk management.
- Mentor, coach, and develop field employees.
- Ensure company equipment and resources are used efficiently and maintained appropriately.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, inspectors, Indigenous communities where applicable, and regulatory agencies.

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
