Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Mandarin Language Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in teaching Mandarin to adults, a deep understanding of modern pedagogical techniques, and the ability to deliver engaging online and/or in-person lessons.

Key Responsibilities

- Instruction: Deliver well-structured, interactive Mandarin language lessons following the IH curriculum guidelines, focusing on conversational fluency, listening, reading, writing, and cultural context.
- Engagement: Create a supportive, inclusive, and communicative virtual or classroom workplace that maximizes student participation and retention.
- Assessment: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and conduct periodic evaluations.
- Administration: Complete routine class administration tasks, including tracking attendance and submitting progress notes on schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience:



Minimum 2+ years of experience teaching Mandarin to adult learners (group and 1-on-1 settings).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Education, Linguistics, Chinese Literature, or a related field (Master’s or recognized teaching certification is an asset).
- Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin (both spoken and written) with clear, standard pronunciation, alongside professional proficiency in English.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable utilizing online learning platforms and virtual classrooms (specifically Microsoft Teams) to deliver interactive lessons.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, cultural sensitivity, punctuality, and a student-centered teaching philosophy.
