Responsibilities
SUMMARY
The Network Analyst is responsible for maintenance and operations of the enterprise network and related technologies. Serves as the operational and maintenance technical lead for voice and data network systems and maximize operational efficiency. Provides resolution support for all voice and data network systems related operational issues and service requests. Monitors and maintains voice and data network systems performance, security, optimization, and efficiency. Coordinates IT change management for the voice and data network systems. Performs technical support for voice and data network systems in initiatives and projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as the operational and maintenance technical lead for voice and data network systems and maximize operational efficiency by:
Liaising with peers, stakeholders, customers, and industry experts at all levels to understand voice and data network systems needs, challenges, and future industry trends in order to achieve increased business value.
Maintaining technical currency by researching market trends on technological advances and industry standards, researching solutions to issues and technical challenges, researching functionality, specifications and capabilities of current and planned voice and data network systems
Contributing to the development of the voice and data network workplans and operations and maintenance projects.
Researching, recommending, testing, and implementing opportunities to achieve greater efficiency with voice and data network management through opportunities such as increased automation;
Implementing, maintaining, and supporting voice and data network customer self-service features and functions.
Provides resolution support for all voice and data network systems related operational issues and service requests by:
Proactively investigating, diagnosing, testing, and resolving problems, and implementing solutions to reduce the frequency of customer impacting system issues.
Retrieving service tickets from the Service Management tool and handling incident and service requests ensuring that they are resolved in line with the agreed upon Service Level.
Applying organizational skills to prioritize and manage incidents and service requests according to predefined processes and procedures and escalate cases as appropriate.
Responding to emergency callouts for immediate operational support as required.
Defining, documenting, and maintaining currency of departmental support and disaster
Recovery procedures ensuring documentation is available on a corporate repository with proper archiving and retention practices in place.
Participating in development of departmental operational procedures, policies, and governance.
Monitors and maintains voice and data network systems performance, security, optimization, and efficiency by:
Evaluating, recommending, testing, and deploying voice and data network systems modifications and upgrades to ensure security, availability, and maximize operational efficiency.
Installing and maintaining voice and data network systems security related software; identifying security related violations, liaise with information security to determine appropriate remediation approach, and reporting to leadership to determine action.
Maintaining voice and data network systems infrastructure in a state of good repair.
Ensuring backups are created and maintained voice and data network systems configurations.
Creating, maintaining, and updating configuration and support and disaster recovery documentation to ensure it accurately reflects current state and is available on a corporate repository with proper archiving and retention practices in place;
Preparing summary reports and maintaining statistics.
Coordinates IT change management for the voice and data network systems by:
Assessing impacts of changes including impact to functionality, stability, and security.
Following and supporting the process for moving change requests from inception to implementation in the production environment, including documentation of the change, communicating with affected parties and stakeholders, and executing change implementation as per BTS procedures.
Performs the role of technical support for voice and data network systems in initiatives and projects by:
Assessing, recommending, developing, testing, and implementing network technology to meet business, application, and system requirements.
Providing formal and informal training to BTS staff concerning functionality of technology utilized for computing device management.
Creating and updating configuration and support documentation to ensure it accurately reflects the recent state and is available on a corporate repository with proper archiving and retention practices in place
Preparing summary reports and maintaining statistics.
Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Requires a diploma in computer science or related discipline from a recognized institute of technology, specializing in data communications and networking systems, or a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
Requires three (3) years previous experience in an information systems environment involving the installation, maintenance, operations, troubleshooting in support of enterprise network infrastructure. A further period of up to one (1) year on the job is required to become thoroughly familiar with the enterprise architecture plan, BTS policies and standards and its specific network operating systems and infrastructure components.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license.
Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.

Hybrid
This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
Salary $8,236 - $9,896 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
