Position Overview

Cloverdale Village Early Learning Centre is seeking a reliable and passionate Casual / On-Call Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position is ideal for educators who enjoy a flexible schedule while supporting classrooms as needed. Opportunities may include full-day or partial-day shifts depending on the operational needs of the centre.

Compensation

Starting at $19.50 - $21.00 per hour + ECE Wage Enhancement (WE)

Starting wage is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Support daily classroom routines while maintaining a secure, nurturing, and engaging environment.
- Supervise and actively engage children in developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assist with children's daily care routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, naps, and outdoor play.
- Collaborate with classroom educators to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow all BC Child Care Licensing Regulations, health and safety procedures, and centre policies.




- Adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Clear Criminal Record Check (CRC) or willingness to obtain one.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Flexible availability to accept on-call shifts.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Physically able to lift and carry children, participate in floor activities, and work both indoors and outdoors.

Additional Information

This is an on-call substitute position. Shift availability will vary based on staffing needs, vacations, sick leave, and classroom coverage requirements. While hours are not guaranteed, there may be opportunities for regular or full-time hours depending on the needs of the centre and your availability.
