Help keep Maker Cube ready for makers. We are looking for a dependable, practical, and welcoming team member who will support the space, assist staff and instructors, prepare for classes, and help members feel comfortable when they arrive.

Maker Cube is the Fraser Valley’s premier makerspace. We are a community of woodworkers, welders, potters, designers, entrepreneurs, and makers of all skill levels.

We foster creativity by providing hands-on training, access to tools and workspace, mentorship, and a supportive place to learn and build.

The role

The starting focus is keeping the facility clean, organized, stocked, and ready for members and classes while helping the staff with day-to-day tasks. You will also greet visitors, conduct tours, and help onboard new members. As you learn the space, you may gradually take on additional front-desk and customer-account responsibilities.

- Reset work areas after use by returning tools and supplies to their proper locations and reporting anything missing or damaged.
- Monitor common supplies, consumables, and basic inventory levels.
- Support basic tool and facility upkeep as trained, and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist with opening, closing, and end-of-day checks according to Maker Cube procedures.
- Class and staff support
- Help prepare classrooms and shop areas before classes, including gathering materials, tools, safety equipment, and other supplies identified by the instructor.
- Help instructors and staff with practical setup tasks so classes and daily operations can start on time.
- Reset and clean class areas after use, return materials and equipment, and flag anything that needs attention before the next session.
- Check in with staff during each shift, communicate what has been completed,

and leave clear handoff notes for unfinished tasks.

Maker Cube Shop & Member Support

- Assistant Member support and front desk Greet members, students, and visitors in a friendly, qualified, and approachable way.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective members and explain how the different areas of Maker Cube are used.
- Support new-member onboarding by reviewing house rules, shared-space expectations, and the basic processes they need to get started.
- Provide front-desk coverage as needed, including answering calls and inquiries and assisting with basic payments or account updates after training.
- Learning and basic administration
- Build a practical understanding of Maker Cube’s memberships, classes, work areas, and services so you can confidently assist members and visitors.
- Complete simple records, checklists, and handoff notes accurately using Maker Cube’s regular systems; training will be provided.
- Take ownership of assigned work, ask questions when something is unclear, and continue building your knowledge of the space over time.

What success looks like

- The space is clean, organized, stocked, and ready for members and classes.
- Instructors and staff have the materials and practical support they need to do their work.
- Visitors and new members receive a friendly welcome, and a helpful introduction to the space.
- Tasks, concerns, and unfinished work are communicated clearly so the next person can act on them.
- You notice what needs doing, follow through reliably, and ask for direction when priorities are unclear.
