POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities, the Facility Maintenance role is responsible for performing routine repairs, addressing maintenance requests, and ensuring building systems and equipment are operating efficiently. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility, with availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

- To keep the Facility’s integrity and to a new state. Other tasks will be required to be performed as an ongoing basis.
- Maintaining work orders log, material requirements and specific scope of work required to correct fault or defects beyond the scope of the normal preventive maintenance routine.
- Carrying out schedule preventative maintenance inspections.
- Monitoring and adjusting all energy management control systems and associated software.
- Performing repairs/painting as required on walls, doors and equipment to ensure a clean and appealing look.
- Performing plumbing duties for emergency of maintenance as required.




- Performing electrical troubleshooting and small repairs as required.
- Inspects and maintains all pool equipment and associated systems based on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis to determine the extent of repairs required.
- Inspects and maintains all cardio and exercises equipment and associated systems based on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis to determine the extent of repairs required.
- Visually checking equipment to determine if they are functioning properly, maintained and serviced to maintain safe operation.
- Ensures that all areas are clean, safe and well organized.
- To attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required.
- Ensures the safety of all members, property and self by following established Workplace Health and Safety practices and procedures at all times.
- Provides a high standard of customer service to all participants as per SAM standards and other guidelines set from time to time.
- Models appropriate behaviors to staff in line with our Mission, Vision and Values. Establishes rapport and maintains effective relationship building behaviors with staff and members. Represents the YMCA and the Association in a professional manner.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Cleaning experience in commercial establishment;
- Experience operating a commercial facility;
- Cleaning experience in commercial establishment;




- Electrical/Plumbing;
- Experience with maintenance and repair of fitness equipment;
- Experience with maintenance and repair of other small equipment;
- Experience with painting and patching drywall;
- Mechanical HVAC;
- WHMIS training an asset;
- Certified Pool Operator is an asset;
- Computer literate;
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment;
- Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule, including days, evenings and weekends;
- Demonstrated ability to work alone or as part of a team;
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED is considered an asset;
- Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check.
