About the Position

Starkell Homes is seeking motivated, reliable, and safety-focused individuals to join our growing team installing prefabricated wood wall, floor, and roof systems on large commercial construction projects. Our work includes schools, multi-family developments, institutional buildings, commercial facilities, and other large-scale projects throughout Manitoba and neighboring provinces.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced carpenters as well as individuals looking to build a career in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

- Install prefabricated wall, floor, and roof systems according to engineered drawings.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, and specifications.
- Operate power tools and construction equipment safely.
- Assist with crane lifts and panel placement.
- Install structural connections, fasteners, blocking, and bracing.
- Verify dimensions, plumb, level, and alignment of structural components.
- Work closely with site supervisors, crane operators, and other trades.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial regulations.
- Travel to various commercial construction sites as required.

Qualifications

Preferred:

- Experience in commercial framing or prefabricated panel installation.
- Journeyman Carpenter or Apprentice Carpenter.
- Experience with engineered wood products and structural framing.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineered shop drawings.

Required:

- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work at heights.




- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Safety-conscious attitude.
- Ability to work well within a team.

Assets

- Fall Protection Certification
- Aerial Lift Certification
- Telehandler or Forklift Experience
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- WHMIS Certification
- CSTS or other construction safety training
- Experience working around cranes and rigging

Schedule

- Monday to Friday
- 8-10 hour shifts
- Overtime as required
- Weekend work available during project deadlines
