About the Role:

RNS Health Care Services Inc. is seeking a motivated and service-oriented IT Specialist to join our Information Technology team. Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Specialist will provide technical support to employees while helping maintain and improve the organization’s technology infrastructure, systems, and security.

This position is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting users, managing technology systems, and contributing to technology improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work across hardware, software, cloud services, telecommunications, cybersecurity, user administration, mobile devices, and web-based platforms.

You will play an important role in ensuring employees have the technology, tools, and support they need to deliver high-quality services to our clients.

A Day to Day Look at the Role:

- Technical Support & IT Infrastructure
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for hardware, software, networking, telephony, and system-related issues.

User Administration & Employee Lifecycle

- Support IT onboarding and offboarding for office employees, Personal Support Workers (PSWs), Nurses, Rehabilitation professionals, and other staff.
- Provision new employees with appropriate hardware, software, email accounts, phone configurations, security settings, and system access.
- Complete employee offboarding, including account deactivation, access removal, and equipment recovery.
- Configure email signatures, voicemail, administrative access, and other user-specific technology requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of user accounts, permissions, equipment assignments, and IT assets.
- Ensure user access and security processes comply with organizational standards and policies.

Training & End-User Support

- Deliver IT orientation and technology training to new and existing employees.
- Develop user guides, training materials, and knowledge resources.
- Support train-the-trainer initiatives and technology education programs.
- Coordinate and promote cybersecurity awareness training and online learning opportunities.
- Assist employees with business applications, collaboration platforms, communication tools, and other technology.
- Explain technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical users.

Website & Application Administration

- Maintain and administer corporate intranet and web-based platforms.
- Support WordPress website administration, updates, and enhancements.
- Monitor website performance, usability, accessibility, and security.
- Maintain technical documentation for websites, applications, and system configurations.
- Assist with web development, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of website improvements.

Documentation, Reporting & Compliance





- Maintain IT procedures, standards, technical documentation, and knowledge base content.
- Prepare and support IT reports, operational metrics, and system performance reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of IT equipment distribution, returns, inventory, and asset assignments.
- Ensure IT processes and policies are consistently followed and documented.
- Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and security assessments as required.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

- Assist with the planning, implementation, and support of technology projects.
- Assess business needs and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.
- Evaluate hardware, software, cloud services, and other technologies to support organizational objectives.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve operational effectiveness.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity developments, and IT best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services, processes, systems, and documentation.
- Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, phones, headsets, and other peripherals.
- Administer Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other cloud-based services.
- Manage user accounts, security groups, permissions, passwords, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Support Avaya phone system administration, including phone provisioning, voicemail setup, and troubleshooting.
- Administer mobile devices and device configuration platforms, including Knox Configure and other mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security and perform preventative maintenance and remediation as required.
- Respond to and resolve IT support requests through the organization’s ticketing system while meeting established service expectations.
- Assist with technology deployments, upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and IT projects.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls designed to protect organizational systems, devices, and information.

What you will need to succeed:

- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Systems Technology, Software Engineering,



Web Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in IT support, service desk, systems administration, or a related technical support role.
- Experience administering Microsoft Azure environments, including user management and security controls.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing and service management platforms.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, user access management, and endpoint security.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and cloud technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting healthcare, home care, or clinical application environments, including AlayaCare or similar platforms.
- Microsoft, Azure, cybersecurity, or IT service management certifications.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, MFA, mobile device management, Knox Configure, and telecommunications systems such as Avaya.
- Experience developing training materials and delivering end-user technology training.
- Experience with WordPress, HTML, and CSS.

Working Conditions

- Primarily office-based in Aurora, Ontario, with hybrid/remote support as required.
- Occasional remote support may be required.
- Participation in an on-call rotation may be required.
- Occasional after-hours maintenance, system updates, and project work may be required.
