Salary:

$50.07 – $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees in this division have the prospect to enroll in the College Pension Plan, with contributions matched by the Employer.

Description:

NLC requires a sessional online instructor to teach the section as indicated below – with course delivery taking place online synchronous for our Fall intake.

MATH 104: - Introduction to Statistics - The course addresses a wide range of issues and questions using statistical techniques such as collection, analysis and interpretation of data, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability and probability distributions, sampling and sampling distributions, estimation, statistical hypotheses testing, test of goodness of fit, regression and correlation. Problem solving for business and economics, social and physical sciences, engineering, etc. are used. This course is cross listed with MGMT 290: Quantitative Methods for Business - The course addresses a wide range of issues and questions using statistical techniques such as collection, analysis and interpretation of data, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability and probability distributions, sampling and sampling distributions, estimation, statistical hypotheses testing, test of goodness of fit,



regression and correlation. Problem solving for business and economics, social and physical sciences, engineering, etc. are used.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Masters' Degree in Math/Statistics;
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching statistics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Committed to student motivation and success; and the
- Ability to collaborate as an effective team member.

Preference will be given to those who also have:

- PhD in Math/Statistics
- The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
- Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary environment;
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and teaching through multiple delivery modalities, and
- Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
