Ignite Auto Repair is looking for a motivated Apprentice Mechanic or Automotive Technician to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who can work independently on general automotive repairs and maintenance while maintaining high quality workmanship and a positive attitude.
This position is not focused on engine rebuilds or transmission overhauls. Instead, we're looking for someone who is confident diagnosing and repairing common mechanical issues found in everyday vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform suspension and steering repairs, including:
- Ball joints
- Tie rods
- Control arms
- Sway bar links
- Wheel bearings
- Struts and shocks
- CV axles
- Front-end and rear-end suspension repairs
- Perform brake system services, including:
- Brake pad replacement
- Rotor replacement
- Brake caliper replacement
- Brake inspections
- Brake fluid service
- Complete routine vehicle maintenance, including:
- Oil changes
- Filter replacements
- Tire rotations
- Battery replacement
- Fluid inspections and top-ups
- Cooling system maintenance
- Belt replacement
- Spark plug and ignition component replacement
- Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle concerns, including:
- Check Engine Lights using scan tools
- Suspension and steering issues
- Brake noise and vibration
- Drivability concerns
- Perform vehicle inspections and recommend necessary repairs.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
- Record inspection findings and repair notes accurately.
- Follow all shop safety procedures and company standards.
- Communicate vehicle conditions and repair recommendations with service advisors.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of automotive repair experience.
- Ability to perform repairs with minimal supervision.
- Solid understanding of modern vehicle systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic scan tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Own a basic set of automotive tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Automotive Apprentice.
- Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
