Civil Construction Estimator

About the Role

- We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience within the civil construction industry, with expertise in analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting successful project delivery.

- This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and cost analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop competitive bids and ensure accurate project planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and requirements.

- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, project requirements, and potential challenges.

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

- Analyze project risks, quantities, and cost factors to develop accurate and competitive bids.

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and project information.

- Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and tender submissions.

- Participate in bid reviews, negotiations, and value engineering discussions.

- Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases, bid documents, and project correspondence.

- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and industry developments to support competitive estimating.

- Assist project teams during execution with cost tracking,



change orders, and contract administration.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support efficient project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Technology, or a related field preferred.

- Proven experience as a Civil Construction Estimator or similar role.

- Experience estimating civil construction projects such as:

- Road works

- Underground utilities

- Site development

- Residential and commercial infrastructure projects

- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and processes.

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in estimating and documentation.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

- Knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and industry standards is an asset.

Technical Skills

- Experience with estimating software and construction tools such as:

- Bluebeam Revu

- Procore

- Microsoft Office Suite

- Other civil estimating software

- Proficiency in preparing cost estimates, bid packages, and project documentation.

Additional Requirements

- Valid driver's license required.

- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

- Qualified estimating certifications (such as CPE) are considered an asset.
