Position Overview
The Operations associate or Shipper is responsible for managing the daily flow of customer orders within the warehouse and someone who cares deeply about customer experience. This includes processing orders, coordinating picking and shipping activities, monitoring inventory availability, and communicating with internal teams and customers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution workplace.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process and prioritize customer orders according to shipping schedules and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely picking, packing, and shipping of orders.
- Monitor order status and resolve any issues that may delay fulfillment.
- Verify inventory availability and work with procurement or inventory teams to address shortages.
- Communicate order updates, delays, and shipment information to customer service and customers as required.
- Ensure orders are completed accurately and meet company quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP system.
- Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, damaged shipments, and inventory variances.
- Support inventory counts and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Generate reports on order fulfillment, shipping performance, and key operational metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in Distribution/Warehouse/Inventory Management Role at least 1 year.
- Forklift Operator experience required - Raymond Reach
- WMS system experience required - Raymond Reach
- Experience in Customer Service Role preferred
- Exceptional written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Accountable and dependable
- Able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality of work
- Excellent organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks
