Overview
Red Spade Ent. Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individuals for full-time pilot vehicle, hotshot, and delivery driving. The ideal candidate will possess a solid commitment to safety in transportation. As a pilot driver, you will be responsible for driving a vehicle equipped with warning lights and signs, in front or behind of oversized loads. This position requires a high level of communication and focus. As a hotshot driver, you will be responsible for delivering freight in vehicles of various sizes safely and efficiently to the end customer.

Duties

- Drive a vehicle to escort oversized loads safely to their destination
- Communicate clearly and concisely via two-way radio any potential hazards, traffic jams, stop lights, narrow bridges, etc.
- Follow all safety rules and laws surrounding transportation of oversized loads, and escorting oversized loads
- Assist driver of oversized loads with loading/unloading the load as required - must be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Perform pre and post trip inspections on pilot vehicle
- Stop, slow, and direct traffic as needed
- Driving vehicles of various sizes (SUV, van, cube truck, 5-ton box truck)
- Moving freight as necessary - again, must be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 lbs, and move skids of varying sizes and weights

Skills

- Must possess a clean "N" commercial driving abstract, a BC Class 5 Driver's licence, and at least 3 years of driving experience
- Must be punctual and reliable




- Strong understanding of regulations surrounding oversized loads
- Excellent communication skills - must be able to speak English clearly and concisely using a radio
- Ability to follow directions, perform under pressure, and make quick decisions in critical situations
- Ability to collaborate with other drivers to ensure smooth operations during trips
- Ability to travel for long periods of time, some overnight trips are required
- TCP ticket and piloting experience are an important asset
- Ability to follow rules and regulations at pickup and delivery sites
- Skills in automotive repair can be an asset for basic maintenance tasks on vehicles

The successful applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. This position will also require a data plan to keep in contact with our dispatcher.

All of our trucks utilize two-way dash cameras and GPS tracking. We also use electronic logbook devices (ELD’s). We are a fully compliant company.

We are a 365 days per year and 24/7 operation.
