We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Laundry Delivery Van Driver/Laundry shift lead/supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting linen between our hotel and spa and our laundry facility, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while upholding our commitment to excellence in customer service. This Laundry lead/supervisor requires exceptional attention to detail, robust organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel, ensuring that all our guests have a pleasant and comfortable experience.
Responsibilities
· Safely operate the delivery van to transport clean and dirty laundry between the facility, hotel and spa and other designated areas.
· Ensuring the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the delivery vehicle and report any issues to the Laundry Facility Manager
· Load and unload linen bags in a careful and organized manner.
· Follow designated routes and ensure timely deliveries.
· Provide friendly and professional service to hotel and spa staff members and guests.
· Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
· Loading and unloading dirty laundry at the facility and sorting into the correct bins to be weighed and washed.
· Communicate with the housekeeping team and spa team in regards to laundry levels.
· Sort and separate soiled linens, towels, and robes according to type and colour.
· Load and unload the washing machines and dryers, ensuring proper sorting and operation of the laundry equipment.
· Operate laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, and ironer, following safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
· Pre-treat stains and spots on fabrics using appropriate cleaning agents.
· Fold, stack,
and organize clean linens, towels, and other laundry items in a neat and orderly manner.
· Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and quality control before returning them to circulation.
· Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the manager promptly.
· Maintain a clean and organized laundry room, including regular cleaning of the equipment and surfaces.
· Comply with established hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty.
Requirements
· Valid Ontario G License with a minimum of 5 years clean driving record.
· Clear Driver’s Abstract
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Prior experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role preferred.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
· Sort and separate soiled linens, towels, and robes according to the type and colour.
· Knowledge of laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and stain removal techniques.
· Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and machinery.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness and quality standards.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads.
· Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays and various shifts as required.
