Engineering Manager – Independent Contractor

Location: Fully remote
Term: 12 weeks, with potential extension
Projects: United States

A hands-on Engineering Manager is required to lead engineering execution for US-based hydrogen and industrial energy projects.

The position will identify, onboard, and manage the engineering resources required during the 12-week period. This is an active delivery role, not an advisory-only position.

Responsibilities

- Identify and appoint qualified engineers, specialists, and engineering firms.
- Prepare scopes, assign work, and manage schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and supplier activities.
- Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and vendor documentation.
- Resolve technical gaps and drive engineering actions to completion.
- Establish an effective engineering team for ongoing US projects.

Minimum Requirements

- Engineering degree and professional registration.
- At least 10 years of industrial engineering and project-delivery experience.
- Direct experience in hydrogen, industrial gases, energy, oil and gas, chemical, or modular process systems is mandatory.



Candidates without relevant experience in at least one of these sectors will not be considered.
- Professional written and spoken English at a tertiary-education level.
- Strong knowledge of US and North American codes, standards, permitting, and professional-practice requirements.
- Established connections within the engineering community in the candidate’s country.
- Proven ability to quickly identify and manage qualified engineering resources.
- Availability to work across North American time zones.

Initial Paid Project

During the first two weeks, the selected contractor will be required to complete a short, defined company project. This will be a paid deliverable used to demonstrate technical capability, communication, execution, and suitability for the balance of the engagement.

Continuation of the 12-week contract will be subject to satisfactory completion of this initial project.

Pay: $12.00-$40.00 per hour
