Don’t Just Watch Dentistry. Live It.

Are you a pre-dental or pre-hygiene student ready to build an application that actually stands out?

Most applicants show up to admissions interviews with standard shadowing hours where they mostly just stood in the corner. At Kiwi Dental, we do things differently. We offer a fast-paced, hands-on, immersive program built to give you a massive competitive edge before you take that big step into dental or hygiene school.

This isn’t just a role—it’s your backstage pass to the real world of clinical dentistry and practice management.

Position Details & Career Pathway

- Starting Role: Volunteer Placement (Minimum 2 days per week for a 6-month commitment).
- The Opportunity to Get Paid: We love hiring from within! Volunteers who consistently demonstrate exceptional reliability, master IPAC/sterilization protocols, and show strong initiative will have the opportunity to transition into a paid position as requirements are met.

The "Kiwi Advantage" for Your Application

- Front-Row Clinical Insights: Get past the waiting room. Watch complex procedures unfold, learn the why behind advanced treatment plans, and master the rhythm of a high-performance clinical room.
- Master the Operations: Get comfortable with the vital backbone of a modern practice—from rigorous infection control (IPAC) and sterilization standards to digital workflows and patient care systems.
- Learn the Art of Patient Care: Watch our doctors and hygienists navigate patient anxiety, explain complex treatment plans, and build trust. These are the exact soft skills that make you shine in school interviews.
- Mentorship & Powerful Recommendations: For team members who show hustle and dedication,

our doctors offer personalized Letters of Recommendation and ongoing guidance as you navigate your application process.

Your Role on the Floor

- Sterilization Lead: Master the RCDSO-compliant sterilization cycle—the absolute heart of clinical safety and flow.
- Operatory Turnover Specialist: Set up and break down rooms for everything from routine care to complex restorative, endodontic, and surgical cases.
- Clinical Support: Keep the practice humming by managing inventory, tracking lab cases, and supporting the clinical team.
- Direct Observation: Earn chairside observation time during active procedures to deepen your clinical understanding.

Who Fits Best Here?

- Driven: You are serious about a career as a Dentist or Dental Hygienist and ready to absorb everything.
- Dependable: You can commit to a minimum of two full days per week (weekdays or weekends) for at least 6 months.
- Proactive: You bring great energy, notice what needs to be done, and take action without waiting to be asked.
- Professional: You respect patient privacy (PHIPA) and hold yourself to high professional standards.

Ready to Turn "Applicant" Into "Accepted"?

Don't settle for passive shadowing. Join a team that loves mentoring the next generation of dental professionals and helping you earn paid clinical experience along the way.
