About the Opportunity

we are offering a Medical Office Administration Student Internship / Volunteer Placement opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining practical experience in a family medical clinic environment.

This opportunity is suitable for students currently enrolled in, or planning to complete, a Medical Office Administration / Healthcare Administration diploma and who want to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence through hands-on training.

The successful candidate will receive guidance and learn the daily operations of a medical clinic, including front desk responsibilities, patient communication, administrative procedures, and healthcare documentation.

Training & Learning Opportunities

The intern will gain experience in:

* Greeting and assisting patients at the front desk.

* Answering phone calls and handling patient inquiries professionally.

* Booking, confirming, rescheduling, and managing appointments.

* Patient registration and updating patient information.

* Ontario Health Card (OHIP) verification.

* Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.- Accuro

* Medical terminology and healthcare documentation.

* Processing referrals, forms, reports, and medical documents.

* Managing incoming and outgoing faxes.

* Scanning, organizing, and maintaining patient records.

* Supporting physicians and clinic staff with administrative duties.

* Understanding medical office workflow and privacy/confidentiality practices.
