About the Role

Epic Roofing & Exteriors Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Service Technician to join our dedicated building envelope team. Unlike standard installation roles, the Service Technician is our front-line expert. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex leaks, performing high-quality repairs, and maintaining diverse commercial roofing systems.

The ideal candidate is a Red Seal certified professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, excels at problem-solving, and can represent our company with professionalism when interacting with clients and property managers.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Technical Execution

- Perform expert-level repairs, maintenance, and installations on various commercial roofing systems (Flat/Low-slope, Metal, and Building Envelope components).
- Conduct thorough roof inspections to identify deficiencies, determine the root cause of leaks, and recommend long-term solutions.
- Ensure all repairs meet or exceed industry standards, local building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment (e.g., heat welders, torching equipment).

Leadership & Safety

- Lead and mentor apprentices, fostering a culture of safety, quality,



and continuous learning.
- Strictly adhere to Alberta OH&S; regulations and Epic Commercial safety protocols, including fall protection and hot work permits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.

Documentation & Communication

- Utilize company technology (mobile apps/tablets) to document work progress, take "before and after" photos, and complete daily service reports.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Dispatch, and Clients to provide updates on job status and timelines.

Requirements

- Certification: Journeyman Roofer Red Seal certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in roofing and construction, with a specific focus on commercial flat roofing systems.
- Technical Skill: Deep knowledge of SBS, EPDM, TPO, PVC, and metal roofing installation and repair techniques.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) in various weather conditions.
- Professionalism: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency using mobile devices for time tracking and job documentation.
- Licence: Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract and reliable transportation to the shop.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $35.00-$44.00 per hour
