Position: Static Security Guard
Responsibilities:
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the safety and security of the assigned location.
- Perform static security duties with minimal downtime on site.
- Patrol long distances, including walking up and down stairs, and stand for long periods during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- Proactively approach security, actively working to prevent and deter incidents before they occur.
- Engage comfortably with individuals suffering from mental health issues, addictions, substance abuse, and homelessness.
- Utilize strong communication skills to verbally deescalate potentially volatile situations.
- Treat all individuals with respect and professionalism, regardless of their status or situation.
Requirements:
- Strong ability to work as a cohesive team member.
- Physical ability to walk long distances, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness and capability to take a proactive approach to security measures.
- Comfort and experience in interacting with vulnerable populations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on deescalation techniques.
- Commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect, in line with 911 IRL's values.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous training and experience in communication skills, working with vulnerable populations, non-violent crisis intervention, and threat pattern recognition.
- Background in security or a related field is advantageous.
