Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of retail cashier, customer service, or sales experience

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier / Customer Service / Sales Associate to join our team at our busy hardware and building supply store in Milton.

This is a hands-on retail position combining cashier duties, customer service, sales support, merchandising, and general store responsibilities. The successful candidate will be confident assisting customers, processing transactions, recommending products, and maintaining a qualified and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Process cash, debit, credit, account, and other customer transactions accurately
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service
- Assist customers in locating products and answering general product questions
- Recommend suitable products and related items based on customer needs
- Support sales throughout the store and help create a positive customer experience
- Process returns, exchanges, refunds, and store credits according to company policies
- Answer telephone inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate department
- Balance the cash register and complete end-of-shift cash procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional checkout and sales area
- Assist with merchandising, pricing, stocking, and product displays
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock or pricing concerns
- Follow all cash-handling, loss-prevention, privacy, and security procedures
- Communicate customer concerns, product issues, or transaction problems to management
- Assist with other store duties as required

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of retail cashier, customer service,



or sales experience
- Strong cash-handling and transaction-processing skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
- Comfortable approaching customers and assisting with purchasing decisions
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work with limited supervision
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic computer and point-of-sale system proficiency
- Able to work cooperatively with customers, contractors, delivery drivers, and team members
- Hardware, building supply, contractor sales, or home improvement retail experience is considered a strong asset
- Product knowledge in hardware, plumbing, electrical, paint, tools, or building materials is an asset

Schedule Requirements

Candidates must have flexible availability, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on store requirements.
