Duties

- Assist experienced powerline technicians in installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground electrical distribution lines
- Operate digger derricks, bucket trucks, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist with line stringing, pole setting, and equipment installation
- Perform rigging tasks for lifting and positioning heavy components with precision
- Conduct visual inspections of electrical lines and equipment to identify potential issues or hazards
- Support low voltage wiring projects and ensure proper grounding and connections




- Follow safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work workplace

Qualifications

- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging equipment
- Experience or familiarity with electrical systems and low voltage wiring is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and perform basic maintenance on tools and machinery
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and work at heights safely
- Willingness to learn new skills related to powerline construction and maintenance
- Basic understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and electrical work
- Valid driver’s license; CDL license preferred but not required initially
