We are expanding our workplace rehabilitation services in partnership with WorkSafeNB to support injured workers in achieving safe and successful return-to-work outcomes.
Position Overview
We are seeking Occupational Therapists to provide Return-to-Work (RTW) services, Job Site Analyses, Ergonomic Assessments, and workplace rehabilitation services for WorkSafeNB referrals.
This is a flexible, contractor-based position that allows you to manage your own schedule while meeting required service timelines.
Work-from-home is supported for administrative and virtual components of the role, provided you are available to travel to workplaces and client sites for in-person assessments as required.
Valen provides comprehensive administrative support so you can focus on delivering quality clinical care.
Training & Onboarding
Successful candidates will receive:
- Remote orientation and onboarding provided by a WorkSafeNB representative upon hire with Valen Homecare.
- Ongoing clinical and administrative support from the Valen Homecare team.
- Dedicated administrative assistance for:
- Report preparation
- Documentation formatting
- Submission coordination
You focus on clinical care—we'll handle the administrative workload.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct:
- Job Site Analyses (JSA)
- Ergonomic Assessments
- Return-to-Work Evaluations
Develop Return-to-Work plans within required timelines (24 hours)
Perform:
- Workplace/site visits
- Virtual assessments
- Functional workplace evaluations
Collaborate with:
- Employers
- WorkSafeNB Case Managers
- Healthcare providers
Monitor client progress and modify RTW plans as appropriate.
Review and finalize reports prepared with administrative support.
Work Structure
- Independent contractor position
- Flexible, caseload-based schedule (no fixed shifts)

Travel Requirements
Candidates must be willing to travel throughout their assigned catchment area, including:
- Fredericton
- Saint John
- Bathurst
- Miramichi
Travel is required for workplace visits, job site analyses, ergonomic assessments, and Return-to-Work services.
Performance Expectations
- Deliver services within WorkSafeNB timelines
- Maintain 90% on-time report submission
- Achieve positive Return-to-Work outcomes
- Communicate proactively with employers, case managers, and healthcare providers
Qualifications
- Registered Occupational Therapist or eligible for registration with the Association of New Brunswick Occupational Therapists (ANBROT)
- Open to:
- Experienced Occupational Therapists
- New graduates
- Candidates relocating within Canada
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset
ANBROT Registration Support
Applicants who are currently registered as Occupational Therapists in another Canadian province and require registration with ANBROT may be eligible for reimbursement of their ANBROT registration fees upon successful hire, subject to Valen Homecare's reimbursement terms and conditions.
Compensation
Competitive hourly contract rates:
- Current Graduates: $62–$70/hour
- Mid-Level: $72–$80/hour
- Senior: $82–$88/hour
Paid billable time includes both direct and approved indirect clinical work.
