The Blast Booth Operator is responsible for preparing products for the finishing process by manually abrasive blasting areas that require additional cleaning, inspecting completed work for quality, and supporting production goals. This role requires safe operation of blasting equipment, attention to detail, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate manual blasting equipment to clean and prepare large parts, focusing on areas not fully cleaned by the automated blasting system.
- Handle blasting equipment under pressure to remove residue and achieve the required surface finish.
- Inspect blasted parts to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
- Monitor blasting intervals and verify they remain within established standards.
- Replace blast drums and related consumables as required.
- Verify the correct colour designation for parts before processing.
- Apply accurate identification tags to materials, ensuring model numbers are correct.
- Assist with loading parts into the blasting system as required.
- Follow production schedules to meet daily manufacturing targets.
- Support and adhere to 6S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Perform a variety of production-related tasks as assigned.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.




- Ability to work safely in confined spaces.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, and work on elevated platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and policy violations to the supervisor immediately.
- Report any actual or potential workplace violence or harassment without delay.
- Never remove or disable safety devices unless an approved temporary safeguard is in place, and ensure the original protection is restored immediately upon completion of the work.
- Operate equipment and perform all work safely to prevent injury to yourself or others.
- Follow established protected work practices and procedures at all times.
- Attend all mandatory Health & Safety training (including WHMIS and orientation) and apply the training in daily work activities.

Preferred Experience

- 6 months to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous abrasive blasting or surface preparation experience is considered an asset.

Education

- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Pay: $24.00 per hour
