Overview
Our Toronto Mainfreight team are seeking experienced and dependable Owner Operator Straight Truck Drivers to join our team. This role offers the chance to operate your own vehicle while providing essential freight transportation services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient deliveries across various routes. As an integral part of our logistics network, you will enjoy the flexibility of managing your own schedule while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism - Ideally candidate will own 2018 or newer.
Duties
- Safely operate straight trucks to transport freight to designated locations according to schedule and route plans
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and security
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status or issues
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting to keep vehicles in optimal condition
- Adhere to all federal, state,
and local transportation laws and safety regulations
- Assist with warehouse operations including freight loading, unloading, and inventory management when required
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Proven experience operating straight trucks in a commercial setting
- Knowledge of forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and freight handling procedures is preferred
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Prior experience in freight transportation or logistics is desirable
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required for safety compliance

Pay: $150,000.00 per year
