Ryan May Music teaches 144 families across the Lower Mainland with a team of 16 teachers. We are adding piano teachers in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for the September term.

IF A FAMILY CANCELS LAST MINUTE, YOU STILL GET PAID. With under 24 hours notice the family is charged and you are paid in full. You are not absorbing other people's schedule changes, which is the thing that makes teaching privately on your own so unpredictable.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE. You teach in students' homes, so you will need a reliable vehicle. Travel beyond your home area is compensated. Most lessons run weekday after school and early evening. Ten students across two evenings is $230 a week.

YOU TELL US YOUR AVAILABILITY AND WE MATCH STUDENTS TO IT. We find the students and handle the scheduling, invoicing, parent emails and makeup lessons. You show up and teach.



This is an independent contractor role, so you invoice us and set aside your own taxes.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO plays piano at a solid intermediate level or better, genuinely likes working with kids and beginners, and is reliable week to week. RCM background is a plus, not a requirement.

Formal teaching experience is not required. Several of our best instructors came to us as strong players who had never taught, and we trained them.
