The Opportunity
This position is responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission and mandate of Toba Centre. This role leads all aspects of philanthropy, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants and donor stewardship. The Manager of Philanthropy and Donor Relations is part of the community engagement team contributing to the overall community engagement strategy to maintain and further develop the organization’s relationship with the Manitoba community.
This position requires professionalism, sensitivity and acumen, strong interpersonal and public relations skills, ability to accept and assume responsibility efficiently and effectively, and the capacity to make decisions in accordance with the policies and practices of Toba Centre.
The Qualifications
This position requires a post-secondary degree in a related university or college program such as marketing, communications, public relations, or business administration from an accredited academic institution and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in a charitable organization. Prior fundraising experience is required, and a Certified Fundraising Executive designation would be is considered an asset.

- High degree of initiative and innovative ability
- Professional presentation and decorum
- Ability to work in a team and diverse workplace
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Internet and abilities to use other computer programs and utilities
- Willingness to work collaboratively and assist with all aspects of operating a registered charity organization
A Prior Contact Check, Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry Check, Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Record Check, and Winnipeg Police Enhanced Security Checks are a requirement of all Toba Centre positions.
