JOB POSITION INFORMATION:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, leadership, and execution of all fleet maintenance activities. The role ensures safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective fleet operations while maximizing asset availability and minimizing downtime.

DUTIES AND TASKS (not considered complete or limited to):

- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for tractors and trailers.
- Oversee inspections, emergency repairs, warranty work, roadside breakdown support, and maintenance scheduling.
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors, forepersons, technicians, apprentices, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, MTO/DOT requirements, environmental standards, and occupational health and safety legislation.
- Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions related to equipment failures.
- Monitor fleet reliability, downtime, maintenance trends, and asset performance metrics.
- Manage fleet maintenance software, work orders, compliance reporting, and maintenance records.
- Negotiate and manage supplier, dealer, and third‑party repair contracts.
- Analyze warranty opportunities and maximize recovery of warranty costs.
- Support equipment specification, procurement, replacement planning,



and lifecycle management.
- Drive continuous improvement, shop efficiency, technician productivity, and process optimization.
- Adhering to corporate values and policies at all times
- Manage team administrative matters, including payroll input and employee records.
- Communicate with dispatch, operations, and drivers on equipment availability and repair timelines.
- Maintain open communication with other departments and leadership to support fluid operations.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the shop through regular inspections.

EDUCATION

- Diploma or degree in;
- Automotive technology
- Heavy Equipment Technology
- Transportation Management
- 310T/310J certification
- Enrolled in Driveon program

EXPERIENCE

- 5-10 years of fleet maintenance experience
- 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role
