We are seeking a versatile Senior Industrial Engineer & Production Manager to drive production excellence, improve manufacturing efficiency, and support high-quality operations for local and international corporate clients.This role focuses on supervising production, improving workflow, strengthening quality standards, and using advanced CNC expertise to train existing staff and elevate manufacturing performance.The ideal candidate will have strong industrial engineering experience, hands-on familiarity with advanced CNC machines, and practical experience with metal fabrication, tooling, stamping, precision manufacturing, and medical device manufacturing.
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Puerto Rico (U.S. Territory).
Core Responsibilities
1. Production
- Directly supervise production operations, ensuring optimal workflow, strict adherence to quality standards, and on-time delivery.
- Elevate production standards to meet the precision, quality, and delivery expectations of major corporate clients.
- Analyze statistical data and operational sequences to minimize costs, identify bottlenecks, and resolve manufacturing problems.
- Coordinate resources, equipment, labor, and workflow to support efficient and reliable production output.
2. CNC Expertise
- Apply strong familiarity with advanced CNC machines, including 4-axis and 5-axis systems, to optimize tooling design, machining strategy, and cycle times.
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and mechanical issues on advanced CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
- Recommend improvements to CNC processes, machine utilization, tooling selection, and production methods.
- Experience with Punch Presses (GE and ABB) is required.
3. Metal Fabrication,
Tooling & Stamping
- Apply experience with metal fabrication processes to improve production efficiency, material flow, and manufacturing consistency.
- Support tooling design, setup, maintenance, and process improvement for precision manufacturing applications.
- Evaluate and improve stamping operations, tooling performance, part consistency, and production repeatability.
- Assist in developing practical solutions for forming, cutting, machining, fixturing, and production-related fabrication challenges.
4. Industrial Engineering & Process Control
- Estimate production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and evaluate the impact of product design changes on manufacturing costs.
- Plan operational sequences, design workspace layouts using CAD, and establish labor utilization standards to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate and support inspection activities, develop corrective action plans, and manage discrepant materials.
- Maintain and improve production documentation and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, production management, manufacturing operations, or a related technical leadership role.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing medical equipment or medical devices.
- Strong familiarity with 5-axis and other CNC machines, including programming, troubleshooting, machining strategies, tooling, and cycle-time optimization.
- Practical experience with metal fabrication, tooling, stamping, forming, fixturing, and precision manufacturing processes.
- Experience with production workflow, quality systems, process controls, inspection methods, and continuous improvement methods.
- Ability to design or evaluate workspace layouts, production sequences, tooling concepts, fixtures, and process improvements using CAD.
- Practical, hands-on approach to identifying manufacturing problems and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Intermediate Spanish language proficiency is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Work Location
This position is based in Puerto Rico. Relocation assistance will be provided.
