Job Summary
We are seeking a agile and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & General Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts receivable processes, ensure accurate bookkeeping, and support general accounting functions. Your proactive approach will help maintain financial accuracy, optimize cash flow, and uphold excellent customer service standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & General Ledger
- Post vendor invoices, PAD/ADA transactions, company credit card expenses, and routine journal entries (including operating expenses and intercompany transactions).
- Prepare cheque payments, ACH payments, EFTs, and wire transfers for vendors and customers.
- Process and monitor intercompany transactions and fund transfers between related companies.
- Prepare Unit Bodies invoices and update the Manufacturing Production Schedule (MPS).
Reporting, Tax & Financial Closing
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly GST/PST returns for ITB, INTL, and ITB Properties.
- Review monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports for ITB, ITB Properties, and INTL; prepare adjusting entries as required, and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain organized accounting records and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits and compliance requirements.
Data Integrity & Cross-Functional Support
- Maintain accurate customer and vendor master records (including banking information, payment terms, and contact details)
with a strong emphasis on secure banking verification processes.
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries via phone and email regarding invoices, payments, remittances, and account balances.
- Partner with Operations, Service Centers, Sales, and Management to resolve billing, accounting, and payment-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing accounting processes and streamline day-to-day workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong background in Accounts Receivable, collections, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Tax Knowledge: Hands-on experience preparing and filing GST/PST returns.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online or similiar, MS Excel, POS terminals, online banking/EFT platforms, and customer vendor portals.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining secure banking records and accurate financial documentation.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
