About PHS Renovations

PHS Renovations is a design-build renovation company delivering high-quality residential renovations across Winnipeg and surrounding areas. We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and full-home transformations.

Our reputation is built on clear communication, detailed planning, and a client experience built on trust.

Role Summary

We are hiring an experienced, consultative sales professional who understands multiple sales strategies and knows how to apply them in a renovation environment.

This role is designed for an ambitious, self-motivated closer who thrives on relationship-based selling and wants meaningful earning potential with no ceiling.

Most importantly, we want our Estimator focused on what they do best: meeting people, building relationships, developing opportunities, and closing projects.

Unlike a traditional sales role where you are expected to handle every administrative task yourself, you will be paired with a dedicated Business Development Partner who works directly alongside you.

Business Development Partner will assist with:

- Incoming and outbound phone communication
- Lead generation and prospecting
- CRM administration
- Lead organization and tracking
- Scheduling and coordination
- Follow-up support
- Administrative sales tasks
- Maintaining accurate pipeline information
- Business development initiatives
- Helping ensure opportunities continue moving through the sales process

The goal is simple: reduce the amount of time you spend behind a desk so you can spend more time in the field, meeting clients, developing relationships, generating opportunities, and closing more projects.

You will still maintain ownership of your sales pipeline and be accountable for progressing leads from first contact through to signed agreement, but you will have full-time Business Development support working directly with you to help manage the administrative and lead-generation work surrounding your pipeline.

Approximately 50% of your expected leads will be provided by PHS, while the remaining 50% will be generated through a combination of your own business-development efforts and support from Business Development through outbound activity, referrals, networking, relationship-building, and lead-generation initiatives.

This structure is intentionally designed to give you more selling time and less office time.

Rather than spending your day buried in phone calls, scheduling, CRM updates, and administrative work, Business Development will work directly alongside you to help keep those pieces moving while you focus on consultations, site visits, networking, relationship development, and closing sales.

During your onboarding and ramp-up period, you will also receive additional support to learn our systems, processes, sales standards, and follow-up expectations.

This position requires strong computer skills and a high level of comfort using technology, mobile applications, CRM platforms, and other digital tools used throughout the sales process. You must be willing and able to learn and consistently use company systems, including Hubstaff.

How the Role Works

As the Sales Specialist, your primary focus is selling, relationship-building, consultations, business development, and closing.

You are responsible for:

- Running consultations and in-home meetings, including late evenings and weekends when required.
- Discovery, relationship-building, needs analysis, and guiding homeowners through renovation decisions.
- Understanding client motivations, priorities, budgets, timelines, and project expectations.
- Objection handling, negotiation, and closing.
- Leading key milestone conversations around scope clarity, budget alignment, expectations, and commitment to proceed.
- Presenting proposals and guiding clients confidently through next steps.
- Maintaining ownership and visibility over your active sales pipeline.
- Ensuring significant client information, notes, decisions, and next steps are accurately captured.
- Executing strategic follow-up and staying personally engaged with active opportunities.
- Developing referral relationships, networking opportunities, and new sources of business.
- Delivering high-quality handoffs to design, estimating, and operations.
- Using company-provided technology, applications, and systems effectively, including Hubstaff.

Your Business Development Partner

You will be paired with a dedicated Business Development Partner who works directly alongside you to help maximize the amount of time you can spend selling.

Your Business Development Partner will assist with:

- Answering and supporting incoming sales calls.
- Outbound calling and prospecting.
- Lead generation.
- Initial lead communication and qualification support.
- CRM administration and data entry.
- Lead organization and pipeline tracking.
- Scheduling and meeting coordination.
- Follow-up execution and reminders.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records.
- Supporting referral and re-engagement campaigns.
- Helping identify and progress stalled opportunities.
- Supporting networking and business-development initiatives.
- Administrative sales tasks that would otherwise reduce your time in the field.
- Helping ensure opportunities continue moving through the sales process.

The Business Development Partner does not replace your ownership of the sale.

Instead, they provide the administrative and business-development support necessary to allow you to operate more effectively as a salesperson.

The goal is more selling time, less office time, and more opportunity to close.

Onboarding & Ramp-Up Support

During your initial onboarding period, you will receive hands-on support to understand the PHS sales process, CRM, lead-management expectations, estimating workflow, renovation process, and client experience standards.

Your Business Development Partner will help:

- Ensure leads are captured and organized properly while you learn the system.
- Support follow-up execution during your first active deal cycles.
- Assist with phone and scheduling responsibilities.
- Help maintain pipeline organization and CRM accuracy.
- Support lead-generation efforts as you establish your network and pipeline.
- Provide continuity while you become familiar with PHS processes.

The onboarding period is designed to accelerate your transition into the role.

Unlike temporary onboarding support, however, your Business Development Partner remains part of your ongoing sales structure after ramp-up.

Key Responsibilities
1) Client Consulting & Closing

- Meet homeowners in-home and/or virtually to confirm renovation goals, priorities, budgets, and timelines.
- Conduct strong discovery conversations to understand both practical requirements and client motivations.

- Build trust through professional, ethical, consultative conversations. This is not a high-pressure sales environment.
- Present proposals and next steps in a clear, organized manner.
- Address questions, concerns, and objections confidently and professionally.
- Negotiate appropriately while protecting project profitability and client expectations.
- Close agreements while maintaining a premium client experience.
- Maintain accurate expectations regarding project scope, budget, timeline, and process.

2) Pipeline Ownership & Lead Management

You own the sales outcome while working alongside your Business Development Partner to keep your pipeline organized and moving.

Responsibilities include:

- Own the movement of each opportunity from lead → consultation → proposal → signed agreement.
- Maintain visibility over every active prospect.
- Maintain 95%+ CRM accuracy across your pipeline with support from Business Development.
- Ensure every open opportunity has:
- An accurate stage
- Documented notes
- A scheduled next step or follow-up date
- Ensure no qualified lead is left without a clear progression plan.
- Review your pipeline consistently and identify opportunities requiring personal attention.
- Maintain awareness of timelines, decision points, client concerns, and commitments.
- Personally handle important relationship-based follow-ups and closing conversations.
- Coordinate with your Business Development Partner on administrative follow-ups, scheduling, lead tracking, and CRM updates.
- Deliver clean, accurate handoffs to design and operations aligned with client expectations.

Your Business Development Partner supports pipeline administration, but you remain accountable for the quality, progression, and conversion of your opportunities.

3) Lead Generation & Relationship Building

- Work company-provided leads with urgency, professionalism, and a structured follow-up approach.
- Generate new opportunities through referrals, networking, strategic relationships, community involvement, and outbound activity.
- Work alongside your Business Development Partner to develop additional sources of qualified opportunities.
- Build relationships with homeowners, industry contacts, past clients, referral partners, and community organizations.
- Actively request introductions and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintain strong client relationships after the sale.
- Attend networking and community events when required.
- Identify new opportunities for partnerships, referral channels, and local market development.

Approximately 50% of your expected pipeline will come from PHS-generated opportunities, with the remaining 50% developed through your own efforts and collaborative Business Development activity.

4) Documentation & Internal Coordination

- Capture project details clearly through notes, photos, video, and documentation as required.
- Ensure information gathered during consultations is complete enough to support accurate estimating and design development.
- Collaborate closely with design, estimating, and operations to ensure scope clarity.
- Communicate client expectations clearly during internal handoffs.
- Coordinate with your Business Development Partner to ensure CRM records and client information remain current.
- Provide field insights that can improve sales systems, marketing performance, lead quality, and the overall client experience.

5) Brand Representation

- Represent PHS professionally at all times — confident, approachable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.
- Communicate transparently and follow through on commitments.
- Set realistic expectations that protect both the client and the project experience.
- Represent PHS professionally at consultations, project sites, networking events, and community activities.
- Build relationships that strengthen the reputation and visibility of PHS Renovations.
- Support company growth initiatives and business-development opportunities when required.

- Ability and willingness to use Hubstaff as part of your day-to-day work.
- An ambitious, self-driven, proactive, and disciplined work ethic.
- A willingness to spend significant time outside of the office meeting clients, networking, developing relationships, and creating opportunities.
- Ethical and empathetic selling practices — trust and transparency are non-negotiable.
- Strong communication and collaboration with your Business Development Partner and the wider PHS team.
- A results-driven mindset and comfort being accountable to measurable sales outcomes.

This role requires both emotional intelligence and operational excellence.
