About ShopView
ShopView builds modern shop management software for independent heavy-duty repair shops. Our platform helps shops reduce chaos, improve visibility, save time, and run more efficient businesses without the bloat of legacy systems.
We are an AI-forward team focused on practical tools that help shop owners, managers, and technicians work smarter.
The Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to help design and build the ShopView application by bringing real-world shop expertise to our development process.
This role requires someone who has spent at least 5 years at the service desk, ordering parts, building estimates, dispatching, and managing the daily chaos of a shop. You will work directly with our engineering team to translate shop workflows into high-quality software features for thousands of users.
What matters most is that you are a power user of shop management systems, have high software navigation velocity, and possess excellent typing and keyboard skills. You know exactly where legacy systems fail and how to build something better.
You will be responsible for defining feature requirements, testing recent builds,
and ensuring that everything we release makes life easier for shop owners and technicians. You don't need to be a coder, but you must be a an expert in real world shop work flows, and be able to understand what makes software great and easy to use.
Software development experience is not required; however, deep heavy-duty repair industry knowledge is mandatory. Technician experience is considered a strong asset.
What You Will Do
*In this work from home position, you will spend your days collaborating with engineers and designers on a computer. It is critical that you are efficient and fast with digital tools. If you don’t consider yourself a power user of shop management systems, other computer programs that you use, and don’t consider yourself a ‘fast’ typer, this is not the role for you.
Product Development & Strategy
- Translate real-world shop workflows (estimates, work order, parts ordering, invoicing, scheduling, etc…) into transparent software requirements for the engineering team.
- Collaborate with engineers daily to take new features from concept to production.
- Prioritize the product roadmap based on your deep understanding of shop pain points.
- Conduct user testing and gather feedback from shops to iterate on designs.
Quality Assurance & Excellence
- Review and test every feature to ensure it meets the standard required for a busy heavy-duty shop.
- Own the "logic" of the shop. Ensure data flows correctly from an estimate to a parts order to an invoice.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of direct experience as a Service Advisor or Service Manager in a heavy-duty or automotive shop.
- Expert-level mastery of shop management software; you are the person others go to for help with the system.
- High software navigation velocity and excellent typing/keyboard skills.
- Strong follow-through, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to stay calm, useful, and clear when customers are frustrated or under pressure.
- Comfortable using, support, reporting, customer engagement, or automation tools.
- Comfortable experimenting with AI tools to work faster and document better (Claude, CGPT, etc…).
- Startup-ready mindset: adaptable, self-directed, and resourceful.
Nice To Have, But Not Required
- Experience as a technician
- Experience in product development
- Experience vibe coding software apps
- Experience working in an early-stage or high-growth software company.
- Familiarity with Jira, Claude, CGPT, Intercom, Hubspot.
Why Join Us?
