Position # : 9000912 Expected Start Date: January 08, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Jim Pattison Children's Hospital City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Pediatric Nursing Unit - 1 Type: Part time temporary Expected Up to Date: July 08, 2027 FTE: 0.5 Shift Information: Days, Evenings, Weekends Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910 Travel Required: No Job Description: The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge & skills gained through additional education and experience specializing in pediatrics.
The PNP blends an in-depth knowledge of advanced health assessment & diagnosis, therapeutic management with the legal authority & autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals & perform specific procedures in the management & treatment of common acute pediatric illnesses & stable chronic conditions.
The PNP practices within a framework of evidence-based practice, health promotion, & disease & injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals/families, & communities, including supporting inter-professional collaboration & continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.
The PNP will be based out of the Pediatric Inpatient Department but will also function in outpatient & community settings. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 5 years General Nursing Experience Three (3) full-time years recent experience working in a pediatric area Education Master's Degree in Nursing, with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Designation Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HCP Certificate (CPR-HCP)
