This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Edmonton Virtual Home Hospital (EVHH) team using the ever

- evolving power of technology to enable patients to receive acute care services in the comfort of their own home.

The team of multidisciplinary professionals monitor patients virtually in collaboration with primary care providers, specialists, and the Mobile Integrated Healthcare team (community paramedics) while involving patients and caregivers in shared decision making as members of the care team.

EVHH has unique pathways that help provide the necessary health care services to the ever-changing needs of Albertans: preventing emergency visits, hospital admissions and supporting early discharges home.
EVHH services include medicine and women’s health.

Other services, including those that are paused, are expected to expand this year.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager for EVHH, the Instructor

- Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for evidenced-informed program wide education and development.

The incumbent facilitates, coordinates and supports the implementation of educational initiatives such as orientation, workflows, mandatory education, frontline support and continuing education.

The CNE will also use evidence-based knowledge and best practice to develop guidelines within the EVHH program.
Other duties include promoting the clinical competence of all roles through changes in policy, procedures, protocols, technology, and our reporting and learning systems (RLS).
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator.
You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development.
You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice.
You will play a key role in providing secure,



quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support

- Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Minimum of (5) five years of nursing experience in a variety of acute care settings, including experience in virtual care environments, with significant experience providing education, coaching, and/or training to staff, learners, patients, and families within those healthcare settings.

Demonstrated ability to translate clinical expertise into effective learning experiences and support practice change through education.
Demonstrated leadership experience, both formal and informal, within a healthcare team or program.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, competency-based education, and curriculum development.
Skilled in a variety of educational methodologies, including one-on-one instruction, classroom facilitation, skills labs, simulation, and virtual learning platforms.
Proven ability to develop evidence-informed practice, implement, evaluate and continuously improve educational programs and learning resources for staff and patients.
Excellent facilitation, coaching, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to analyze clinical, operational, and quality data to identify learning needs and inform educational priorities.
Highly motivated, self-directed and able to work effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Strong understanding of Connect Care, and electronic health record documentation.
Additional experience/education/certifications; Master of Nursing, process improvement, project management, leadership, conflict resolution, change management and communication.
Quality experience with AHS RLS.

Experience as an RN working in multiple sub-specialties medicine and surgery are all preferred qualifications.
