To Apply for this Job Click Here Our client, a leading Canadian financial services organization backed by a well-established national enterprise, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Commodity Tax to join their growing finance team. This role supports a highly regulated banking environment and offers exposure to complex indirect tax matters within a financial institution setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, advising internal stakeholders, and supporting ongoing process and system enhancements. Benefits & Perks $80-90k 3 days in office per week (Downtown Toronto) CPA support and career development opportunities Collaborative, close-knit team environment Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GST/HST/QST returns for a financial institution classified as a Selected Listed Financial Institution (SLFI) and related entities Prepare, review, and reconcile quarterly commodity tax journal entries Act as a subject matter expert on indirect/commodity tax matters, providing ongoing advisory support to internal business units, including review of vendor contracts Compile information from multiple financial systems and business units to support filings, audits,
and inquiries from tax authorities and external auditors Develop, enhance, and maintain commodity tax accounting procedures, internal controls, and standard operating procedures Monitor changes in commodity tax legislation and interpretations, assess impact, and communicate implications to stakeholders Support ad hoc initiatives and cross-functional projects as required Qualifications Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field Minimum 3 years of indirect/commodity tax experience, ideally within: Banking or financial services Insurance, pensions, or financial institutions Big 4 or large professional services firms with financial services exposure Strong understanding of how commodity tax rules differ for financial institutions versus non-financial organizations Experience preparing GST/HST/QST returns in a complex, regulated environment Solid knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to indirect tax Experience working with large financial systems (e.G., SAP) Advanced Excel skills Strong communication skills with the ability to explain tax matters to non-tax stakeholders CPA designation is an asset #J-18808-Ljbffr
