League, supporting a rapidly growing sports brand operating across 20+ North American cities and serving more than 50,000 athletes.Brodie Rec. Our mission is to make every league night the best night of the week for our athletes.Role OverviewWe're looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the design of the Brodie app's engagement and retention layer. You'll design progression systems including XP, levels, badges, archetypes, challenges, rewards, and re‐engagement experiences that keep athletes connected to the league between game nights. This is a high‐impact role with ownership of one of the most important product initiatives on our roadmap and a hard Fall 2026 launch deadline.You'll work directly with our Product Design Director, CEO, and app Engineering team in fast product cycles – taking features from problem to wireframe to high‐fidelity prototype to shipped product, then iterating based on real player behaviour. The right person is a systems thinker who designs fast, communicates clearly, and uses modern tools – including AI – to multiply their output.Core ResponsibilitiesGamification, XP & Challenges (Primary Focus)Design the XP economy: points, levels, tiers, and unlockables – including earn rates, decay, season resets, and anti‐gaming protectionDesign the badge and archetype systems, including art direction with our 3D asset pipelineDesign the weekly challenge / quest system: personal quests, weekly goals, city‐vs‐city challenges, streak mechanics, leaderboards, and challenge invitesDesign reward loops: milestones, partner rewards, and membership & loyalty integrationRun a live‐ops design cadence: weekly challenge refreshes, seasonal events, limited‐time dropsWork our LiveOps rhythm: weekly player / captain / team health‐score reviews feed what you design and ship nextPush Notifications & Re‐EngagementOwn notification strategy and the notification design system: triggers, copy patterns, deep links, segmentation,



and quiet hoursDesign game‐day flows (reminders, score drops, post‐game stat pop‐ups) and challenge/streak triggersGrow push opt‐in and keep notification health solid (CTR up, fatigue and unsubscribes down)Partner with our lifecycle / CRM team so push, email, and in‐app messaging behave as one systemMobile App DesignDesign end‐to‐end user flows for new features (onboarding, social activity feed, messaging, events, game film)Own the home dashboard — awards, badges, challenges, and activity feedCreate high‐fidelity screens and interactive prototypes; work with engineering for pixel‐perfect implementationConduct design QA on TestFlight and staging buildsIterate based on behavioural data, session analytics, and player feedbackDesign System & Brand ConsistencyMaintain and extend our component library in Figma — including new gamification surfaces (badges, challenge cards, shareable graphics)Ensure brand consistency across all digital productCreate reusable patterns and templates that scale; document design decisions and standardsRequirements5+ years of product design experience on mobile‐first consumer apps with real users at scaleYou've taken progression, reward, loyalty, or retention features from concept to launch and can speak to the results they achievedExpert‐level Figma skills (components, auto‐layout, prototyping, design systems)Fluent in engagement metrics — D1/D7/D30 retention, DAU/WAU, opt‐in rates, funnel analysis (Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)Strong portfolio demonstrating end‐to‐end product design (not just UI skins) — include at least one progression or retention system case studyStrong prototyping skills for communicating complex product experiencesExperience working in fast‐paced, startup or high‐growth environmentsExcellent visual design skills - typography, layout, color, spacingStrong communication skills - written and verbalAI‐Native Mindset: you actively use AI to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, documentation, and collaboration,
