This includes the staffing, budgeting, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities in a safe, productive, and cost-effective fashion.Key ResponsibilitiesBe a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresEmbed secure work systems and practicesPromote a work environment which supports safe and efficient behaviour on the job and an awareness of and compliance with environmental, safety, engineering,
and Mines Act requirementsActively support the career development of the Mine Maintenance team members appropriatelyEnsure compliance with the process for management of emerging maintenance work (urgent / unplanned) within the limits of the Integrated PlanMaximize availability of all mine equipment through the safe execution of predictive maintenance activities and effective maintenance planningExecute maintenance in line with relevant standards to ensure the plan is achieved, resulting in high levels of equipment reliabilitySupport continued improvement in operating times and production through efficient and timely planning, implementing betterments and capital projectsMaintain the production capability of the mine operating equipment by performing long-range planning, establishing preventative maintenance programs, integrating the maintenance work forces, and developing solutions to critical maintenance problemsCollaborate with the Mine Operations, Maintenance & Asset Management and Mine Planning teams to ensure that overall site production targets are metParticipate in the development of departmental budgets and plans, monitoring and control of compliance, and accountability for plan variancesQualificationsExtensive knowledge of mining practices, equipment capabilities, mechanical/electrical maintenance principles, budgeting/costing systems, maintenance planning systems, and appropriate regulations and standardsA BSc. in Engineering or technical accreditation aligned with the roleHave a minimum 10 years' of progressively senior level experience, preferably in a unionized environmentProven and exemplary leadership and supervisory skillsAdvanced analytical problem solving and decision making abilitiesBe a courageous safety leader,
