General contractor seeking experienced Superintendent with local experience for construction phase of commercial, residential and institutional projects. Ideal candidate will have experience on projects up to $100m, will be a self-starter and able to work off their own initiative. Salary range is $130,000 - $180,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full time permanent role.Job Summary of SuperintendentYou're a Superintendent with field operations experience working in multi-disciplinary commercial and residential construction projects. You will be responsible for enforcing company and project policies, they are the main client interface, and ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. This position works closely with the executive team and provides leadership in field operations. For you, safety and quality are a priority and you are able to effectively delegate work to field staff, contractors, and subcontractors.Responsibilities of SuperintendentComply with and effectively implement company Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceededEnsure project construction is completed in compliance with the construction schedule, control budget and contract documentsExecute work in accordance with Contract documents, sub-contracts/agreements, plans, specifications and shop drawings including coordination and execution of changes to the workResponsible for temporary worker hiring decisions in conjunction with Project Manager and direct, manage and promote productivity of employees on the job site (including trade contractors, suppliers, assistants and hourly employees) required to construct the project in accordance with the contracts,



plans and specificationsPrepare the weekly production schedules and look aheadEnsure appropriate action is taken in cases where contracts, plans and specifications are inadequate or contravene good building practice in conjunction with Project ManagerReview and enforce the trade contracts, scopes of work for discrepancies with project requirementsReview drawings for dimensional errors, construction detailing, constructability, economy and long-term durability in conjunction with the Project ManagerReview the budget and the underlying estimate to understand what assumptions were made and what conditions have been set in conjunction with the Project ManagerCoordinate inspections with civic authority and other authorities with jurisdiction for routine and occupancy-related inspectionsAttend, chair and document regularly scheduled trade meetings; maintain liaison with client and architect contacts to facilitate construction activities in accordance with Safety Program and Quality Management ProgramWork collaboratively and conduct effective meetings with other departments, project staff, owners, architects, subcontractors, sharing knowledge and experience to meet the client's objectives efficiently and effectivelyMay be responsible in overseeing one or more teams/projects that are at multiple sites or large complex projects; fostering strong teamwork orientationGood ability to manage schedules, costs, pre-construction, subcontractors and invoicingBe an integral part of a growing company and make a great position for themselves in a busy market,



with the ability to make good money along the way.Requirements of Superintendent6+ years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar direct supervisory roleCombination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification / education programWorking knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processesSolid understanding of current construction practicesAbility to guide safe work practices in a high pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budgetWorking knowledge of construction documents, contracts, costs, and budgetsWorking knowledge of scheduling and project managementAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders needs, and identify solutionsCapable of identifying constructability issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and scheduleSkilled at promoting teamwork with project team and stakeholdersStrong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to use Word, Excel, and Outlook.
