The successful candidate will join the current 6 physician Pediatrics team in Eastern zone. The CBRH has a 10‐bed Neonatal Intensive Care unit along with an 8‐bed pediatrics unit. On average 1000 deliveries take place at the CBRH each year with numbers steadily increasing.



The opportunity is available immediately.ResponsibilitiesNeonatal clinical care — Attend deliveries and provide care for patients of any gestational age who require NICU services.Weekday in‐house coverage — Provide in‐house daytime coverage Monday to Friday for all neonatal services across the NICU, LDR/OR, Mother–Baby Unit, and the perinatal clinic. Daytime coverage is shared equitably among the neonatologists.Teaching responsibilities — Supervise and teach residents and medical students. Teaching remuneration is provided.Provide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level health care.Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.Expected HoursWeekday schedule — Five days per week of in‐house daytime coverage.On‐call duties — After‐hours, weekend, and holiday call is from home.First call for critically ill neonates and deliveries — The on‐call schedule is organized by the neonatologists and shared equitably to ensure 365‐day coverage.Nova Scotia Health offers a variety of incentives designed to relieve some of the pressure, cost, and difficulty that comes with relocation.
