For more information visit our website at https://trekormetals.Com.General AccountabilityReporting to the Director of Finance and Treasury, the Tax Manager is a senior finance professional responsible for leading the organization's tax function and supporting broader business objectives and growth initiatives. As a key member of the corporate finance team, the Tax Manager oversees corporate tax compliance, planning, reporting, and risk management activities. This role ensures adherence to all applicable tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities to optimize the company's overall tax position. Working closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external advisors, the Tax Manager provides strategic tax guidance and supports business growth, corporate transactions, and other key initiatives.Core ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & ReportingManage the preparation, review, and filing of federal, provincial/state, local, and other tax returnsEnsure timely and accurate tax payments and regulatory filingsOversee tax provisions and related disclosures for monthly, quarterly,



and annual financial reportingMonitor changes in tax legislation and assess impacts on the organizationAssist the Company in obtaining tax credits, accelerated deductions and other government incentives supporting the mining industry and critical mineralsTax Planning & StrategyDevelop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the Company's tax positionSupport mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and corporate restructuring initiatives from a tax perspectiveEvaluate tax implications of new business activities, contracts, and investmentsProvide recommendations to senior leadership on tax-related risks and opportunitiesAudit & Risk ManagementManage relationships with tax authorities and external auditorsLead responses to tax audits, examinations, and inquiriesMaintain solid internal controls around tax processes and documentationIdentify and mitigate tax risks across the organizationTeam & Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with accounting, treasury, legal, payroll,



and operational teamsSupport process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax functionManage and develop tax staff and/or external service providers as applicableServe as a trusted advisor to finance leadership and business stakeholdersEducation and ExperienceRequiredBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related fieldCPA accounting designation7+ years of progressive accounting and corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry, preferably with a big four accounting firmStrong knowledge of corporate income tax, indirect tax, and tax accounting IFRS principles.Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns and tax provisions under IFRS accounting standardsAdvanced MS Excel and financial analysis skillsExcellent communication, organizational, and project management abilitiesPreferredExperience in a multi-entity, multinational, or complex corporate environmentMining or real estate experience in Canada and/or the USACPA Canada In-Depth Tax CourseFamiliarity with ERP systems and tax technology solutionsLeadership or people management experienceSkills and CompetenciesAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within established timelinesStrategic thinking and business partnershipLeadership and team developmentAnalytical problem solvingAttention to detail, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsProcess improvement mindsetRisk assessment and mitigationCompensationAt Trekors, we pride ourselves on offering a challenging and rewarding work environment.
