Regional Occupational Therapist – 1 Year Term in Inuvik, NT

The Ultimate Arctic Practice: Regional Occupational Therapist- 1 Year Term in Inuvik, Northwest Territories!

Forget the beige walls of a suburban clinic.

We’re looking for a clinician with a true sense of adventure - someone who finds the hum of a small bush plane more soothing than white noise of city traffic and sees an ice road as a bridge to untapped potential. You’ll be traveling to some of the most breathtaking corners of the High Arctic, bringing vital care to communities that few people ever get the privilege to visit.

While you’ll report directly to the Regional Manager of Rehabilitation, you’ll be part of a collaborative team of 3 Physiotherapists, 3 Occupational Therapists, 3 Speech Language Pathologists, and 2 Rehabilitation Assistants. In the North, you all will be providing a built-in support system as you navigate the complexities of remote practice.

You’ll provide assessment and rehabilitative services to patients across the entire lifespan - from pediatrics to geriatrics. Your work is kept compelling with no two days the same: you’ll manage a caseload that spans the hospital’s Acute Care and Long-Term Care wards, outpatient clinics, community health centers, group homes, and schools. Whether you are working in a preschool or an elder's home, you’ll be ensuring that quality care reaches every corner of the Beaufort Delta.

If you have a knack for solving problems on the fly, and a heart for adventure, it’s time to swap the traffic jams for changing your latitude to Inuvik.

We Provide:

- Salary: $106,158 - $126,809
- Paid benefits in year 1: $25,304 – $27,104
- Paid relocation, up to 21 days in accommodations
- Meaningful leadership experience in northern communities

Requirements:

Occupational Therapy at a Bachelor's or Master's level, 2 years of work experience or more preferred. Must be eligible for membership with the CAOT, professionally licensed in any Canadian province as an active member.

The Beaufort-Delta Region is home to the northern-most communities in the Northwest Territories. Famous for wildlife sightings like polar bears, reindeer, muskoxen and caribou, this unique region above the tree line is simply breathtaking. Popular activities include taking a dip in the Arctic Ocean and exploring the unique landscape of the pingos. With most communities in this region accessible by road, there is a full range of essential services. The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) - Beaufort Delta Region operates the Inuvik Regional Hospital and serves Inuvik and 7 other arctic communities including; Aklavik, Fort McPherson, Tsiigehtchic, Tuktoyaktuk, Paulatuk, Sach’s Harbour and Ulukhaktok.
