The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing strategic growth opportunities across international markets. This role involves building strong relationships with partners, clients, and internal stakeholders to drive revenue, expand market presence, and support long‐term business objectives.Core ResponsibilitiesIdentify and evaluate current international markets, channels and customer segments for business growth.Identify and follow up on new business leads in the region.Develop and manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders to support regional expansion.Collaborate with sales teams and/or Customer Service teams within the Europe region to develop and implement effective go‐to‐market strategies tailored to specific business opportunities.Generate and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities through exploration networking, lead generation and industry events.Work closely with business unit client services, business development, finance and legal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of client contracts and expansion of service offerings.Align service offers to Geochemistry service and work in conjunction with Metallurgy, Environmental, Inspection, Geoanalytics, Mine site, and other ALS business streams to increase scope of services offered and business opportunities.Conduct competitive analysis and stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.Align proposals to ALS price strategies and adjust to market conditions in consultation with site managers.Analyze quote win rates and provide necessary guidance to site managers based on trends.Ensure regular and timely follow‐up on quotes issued/tenders issued in conjunction with client services teams.Organize brown-bag events with technical experts within ALS to promote ALS services.Work directly with existing clients to expand the scope of current service offerings (both through existing value chain and through other ALS services).Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure seamless communication, timely delivery of services,
and prompt resolution of any issues or concerns.Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision‐makers within existing and potential client organizations.Provide input and insights to support marketing and promotional initiatives targeted at increasing brand visibility and market share.Encourage customer feedback through annual client surveys to identify growth business opportunities.Analyze results obtained through client surveys and prepare debrief meetings with site managers for review and to define appropriate improvement actions.Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of the mineral exploration and mining industry.Metallurgical processes (bonus).Familiarity with geochemical laboratory services, including lab workflows, sampling procedures, and safety protocols.Knowledge of chemical analysis techniques, reagent handling, and equipment used in on‐site labs.Understanding of proposal writing, cost estimation, and technical sales in the exploration and mining industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and technical teams.Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion.Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving.Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.Strong project management and financial acumen.Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.Multilingual skills are an asset.Ability to manage multiple priorities, balancing client engagement with technical support.Self‐motivation and a proactive mindset to identify and pursue business opportunities.Strategic planning/ thinking and implementation abilities.Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Attention to details and high degree of accuracy.Fast learner and quality service attitude.Enthusiastic and motivationally oriented.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing,
Communication or Economics.Certification in sales or business development.5–7 years of experience in business development, sales, senior client service, or strategic partnerships, preferably with international experience.Applied Geochemical/Geology experience with a minimum of 3–5 years in an analytical or metallurgical lab.Experience with CRM software or similar and data analysis and reporting tools.PowerPoint proficiency – excellent experience preparing and delivering presentations to clients and management.Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving history.Physical DemandsAbility to sit at a desk and perform general office work; periodic sedentary responsibilities. Ability to stand for up to a full shift; be available to work outside normal business hours when required; use and view a computerscreen for up to 8 hours per day; communicate via telephone and e‐mail without assistance; frequent domestic and international travel required (up to 40%), occasionally on short notice.BenefitsEstimated annual salary of $130,000–$150,000 at the time of posting.
